By Anne Flynn Wear / For Furniture Today / AUSTIN, Texas – Logistics technology company uShip has expanded its suite of technology tools called In-Home Delivery to offer e-commerce furniture sellers a competitive advantage.
“Shipping antique cabinets, vintage armoires, and new sofas remain a major hurdle for online sellers, especially in a market where fast and free delivery is expected by buyers,” said Mike Williams, CEO. “Now online furniture sellers have access to the technology and tools to elevate key points of their buyers’ experience to help level the playing field with Amazon, Walmart and big-box retailers.”
UShip’s In-Home Delivery now includes instant shipping rates that integrate directly into the sellers’ checkout process, as well as curated carrier networks.
Based on shipping intelligence data gathered over the past 15 years from nearly 3 million bulky deliveries, uShip is now using machine learning to provide attractive shipping rates while keeping sellers’ costs down.
UShip’s Shopify plugin now displays fixed shipping rates at checkout, helping to address cart abandonment concerns. Depending on the seller’s business model, pricing strategies can include free shipping, transparent rates or turning shipping into a profit center.
Sellers also now have access to uShip’s curated networks of transporters that have been selected from its network of more than 40,000 active carriers.
