Yorkshire-based Couriers APK received a nice surprise after delivering a piano to Sheffield recently – £750 for shifting the official One Millionth Listing of uShip, the global online transport marketplace. The uShip Certified Green Transporter also receives promotion across the Web site and a special mark on their online profile page.
uShip customer Wei Qu of Sheffield accepted APK Couriers’ £148 bid after receiving 13 delivery quotes from five different transporters, ranging from £165 to £115. The upright Petrof piano, weighing 150kg, came from 172 miles away in Essex and was delivered on 4 April using one of APK’s speciality cranes. APK Couriers has been booking jobs on uShip since last year, earning 100% positive feedback on dozens of deliveries across the UK.
“uShip is the best we have found online by far,” said Kathleen Sutton, Manager of APK Courier, which delivers about 10 pianos each week. “We have found uShip very helpful at keeping our vehicles full with other pianos and works for return loads. It helps reduce our costs and cost to the general public.”
uShip also reimbursed the entire cost of the delivery to Qu, who found uShip through a Google search: “It was very simple and straightforward to list my piano on uShip.com. The piano arrived on time and carefully delivered with professional equipment. I definitely will recommend APK and uShip to others and use the service again.”
