uShip Integrates with eBay for Larger-Than-Parcel Shipping

Online shipping market operator uShip Inc. said it has reached an agreement with eBay Inc. to incorporate uShip-powered shipping options for eBay categories that frequently involve larger-than-parcel goods heavier than 150 pounds.

The integration is available in eBay Motors’ U.S. vehicles, motorcycles, power sports and boats sections, with more categories to be added in the spring, uShip said in the March 7 announcement.

UShip said its shipping market also will be incorporated into global eBay properties within a year.

Prior to this agreement, buyers who purchased LTP goods on eBay would need to arrange shipping through uShip independently.

As a result of the integration, eBay buyers and sellers will have more direct access to carriers and pricing, resulting in more eBay volume for uShip carriers, uShip said.

Carriers can use uShip.com to automatically provide rates to small and midsize shippers who post their freight on the site. The rates are based on pre-defined parameters set by the carriers, including specific lanes, freight type, restrictions and seasonal pricing.

Earlier this year, uShip expanded its less-than-truckload spot rate marketplace to include pricing and bids from national LTL haulers R&L Carriers Inc. and Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc., as well as a variety of regional LTL carriers.

Roadrunner ranks No. 24 on the Transport Topics list of the top 100 for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
