uShip Announces Next-Generation Load Board – Commercial Carrier Journal

November 18, 2011

uShip, a transportation exchange with over 1 million shipping customers, 10,000 brokers and 200,000 carriers, announced a new next-generation load board called uShip Pro. The technology is designed to help frequent shippers and brokers to build, automate and optimize their transportation networks.

uShip Pro is available now as an invite-only, limited Beta at http://www.uship.com/pro/.

Through uShip Pro, users can build approved carrier networks by inviting their current carriers and finding new ones on uShip. The new load board works similar to social networking sites such as LinkedIn for building a trusted network of business contacts and sharing information only with that inner circle (i.e. The Circle of Trust).

uShip Pro works the same way in that only carriers in an approved network can book posted loads.

uShip Pro also has similarities to eBay, where customers make purchases online instantly or through the auction process. As eBay has done for sellers, uShip Pro gets high frequency shippers and brokers the best possible rates when carriers either instantly accept the offer price or place competing bids online.

To attract new carriers and expand a network, uShip Pro lets users show loads publicly or post to uShip’s entire network of pre-qualified carriers with no service charge.
